However, coming from the North of the country, he lacked the “local knowledge” essential when making one of the biggest investments of your life. What should have been a comfortable first step became a harsh lesson in the importance of understanding an area before committing to it. He soon realised he had unknowingly purchased in a high-crime area, paying close to six figures for the privilege.
From that moment, his mission became clear: learn what truly makes a “good area” and avoid repeating the same mistake. He devoted himself to researching local crime statistics, community amenities, transport links, and more, all in the hope of making better choices in the future. But it also raised a bigger question: why wasn’t there a reliable resource to help others avoid the same pitfalls?
