It is a village with its own church, not a hamlet. I am not aware of anyone who would be concerned walking the streets after dark. The village has its own public house, The Ingram Arms, and also has a playing field with a large children’s playground. The community is strong and hosts a feast every summer on the playing field and the best bonfire night for miles around. There is also a bus service to Scunthorpe and Gainsborough at approximately hourly intervals.
